Ketu – The Devourer of Dark Chakra

Designed during TB Choi’s Mentorship, where I explored character creation in the League of Legends art style.
Ketu hails from my personal IP Aryavarta, a South Asian–inspired region within Runeterra that I’m developing.
He embodies the corrupted manifestation of chakra energy the Dark Chakra, representing hunger, imbalance, and chaos.

Once a guardian of sacred power, Ketu became consumed by his own thirst for control.
For Ketu’s design, I drew inspiration from South Asian cultures his mask blends influences from Nepal and Sri Lanka, while the patterns on his clothing are inspired by Warli art from India. I wanted to celebrate these regional aesthetics while still keeping a modern game character vibe, making sure the cultural elements enhanced the design rather than overpowering it.I focused on integrating South Asian demonic motifs and Riot’s stylized shape language designing Ketu to feel both divine and monstrous.
